15th February 2025 Vibes: Love is in the air if it wasn't obvious already

This Week’s Whisper from the Universe

You think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists, but more often than not, the opposite is true. See, the dreamers need the realists to keep the dreamers from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists? Well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground.

Let’s Overthink This

Hello! Last week, I got a bunch of new subscribers, so thank you to everyone who joined—I hope you enjoy your time here! And to my longtime readers, welcome back <3

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! Valentine’s Day is about celebrating love and friendship, and I truly believe all my readers are like friends. So, sending lots of love your way!

Now, let’s talk about something fun—do opposites really attract? Since childhood, romantic movies have told us that they do. The classic story of two people who are nothing alike but somehow fit together perfectly, as if filling a missing piece. But, after thinking about it, I feel like that’s not entirely true.

I don’t believe anyone has a "void" that another person needs to fill. We are all whole in our own way. Growing up has taught me that self-love is so important. If we feel incomplete without a partner, it can sometimes lead to a relationship where we lose our individuality. Of course, this isn’t always the case, but I’ve been in relationships where my partner and I became so intertwined that when it ended, we both realized there were sides of ourselves we hadn’t explored. Looking back, I don’t blame the relationship—it just made me reflect on something I hear couples say often: Don’t stop putting in effort. But maybe the effort isn’t just about the relationship itself—it’s also about continuing to nurture your relationship with yourself.

I like to think of relationships as a photo wall. It starts with pictures of yourself, your family, your life, and your friends. When you meet someone, they don’t "complete" the wall—they simply become a beautiful new addition. And as time goes on, you keep adding more memories, more moments, and more pieces of your own life alongside them.

Now, what about people who are similar—do they attract? I think real relationships, the ones I see around me or read about, exist somewhere in the middle. If two people are too similar, they might not challenge each other enough to grow. If they’re complete opposites, they might struggle to find common ground. The balance, I guess, is where the magic happens. And as Ed Sheeran says "people fall in love in mysterious ways"

Final thoughts: These are just my personal musings, and I’m definitely not saying I’m right—so please be kind if you disagree! :) And remember, Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples—it’s about celebrating all kinds of love. When I was younger, my parents would always buy me roses and jewelry, and I’d use my pocket money to buy chocolates for my parents. This year, I baked them brownies to celebrate!

So yes, love is in the air, and love is everywhere—we just need to slow down, observe, and appreciate it. <3

In other thoughts, while writing this edition, I got distracted and solved the wordle in literally 2 attempts, it's the small wins!!

Literary Main Character Moment

Finished reading convenience store woman by Sayaka Murata and it was such a quirky read. It was funny, real (a little too real), unpredictable, one of its kind in my opinion all in all a brilliant book! I can't exactly categorise into a genre but if you like comical books but not too far away from reality, you should read this book.

The book had so many observations about humans, how this world functions, how humans think, how humans react to different situations, and so much more. There has been a lot of thought put into every single line written here because I couldn't stop marking the pages that struck a chord and the book is only 160 pages long.

Following are some of the quotes I highlighted:

“After all, I absorb the world around me, and that’s changing all the time. Just as all the water that was in my body last time we met has now been replaced with new water, the things that make up me have changed too.”

“I find the shape of people’s eyes particularly interesting when they’re being condescending. I see a wariness or a fear of being contradicted or sometimes a belligerent spark ready to jump on any attack.”

"It is the start of another day, the time when the world wakes up and the cogs of society begin to move. I am one of those cogs, going round and round. I have become a functining part of the world, rotating in the time of day called morning"

What’s Cooking in Your World?

When it comes to relationships, what do you believe?

  • Opposites attract – Differences create balance

  • Similar people work best – Shared interests matter more

  • Somewhere in the middle – A mix of both is ideal

  • It depends – Every relationship is unique
